Why Hire a Wisdom Worker?

If you’re looking for individuals who have empathy and compassion that have been carefully curated over time.  Individuals who understand how to help others in an unselfish manner.

If you want someone, who after decades of experience, has mastered control over their emotions.  Someone calm, cool and collected, who is not easily rattled and understands that everyone is entitled to their perspective without quickly becoming offended by those who may disagree.

Maybe you are looking for someone with the ability to self-reflect.  Someone who understands their own behavior, thinking and feelings.  Someone who resists the temptation to blame others before considering the role they may have played and who understand their own strengths and weaknesses. Someone who is patient and knows that sometimes no response is the best response.

Perhaps having an individual on the team who understands and accepts uncertainty and can prosper in situations that appear ambiguous and a bit fuzzy.  Someone who knows that we can have a difference of opinion and still progress together.

It could be that having someone on the team who is decisive when needed is important.  Not necessarily someone who can not only make quick decisions but can reach a decision having decades of experience to rely on.

Many are looking for individuals who can not only perform but also play a part in guiding others.  The wise share their knowledge with those willing to listen.

Seems there are two distinct views on this. For some organizations the mere notion of allowing their people to stay engaged for as long as they like is an absurd idea.  Their human capital handbook is missing this chapter. For others, mobilizing the incredible force of their older demographic makes complete sense.  What do you think?
